First, high-sensitivity optical sensors are integrated into the cabinet to detect when a person is in the channel. Second, a mechanical anti-pinch function ensures that even if the sensors are somehow bypassed — if someone is carrying a large object that blocks the beam, for example — the wing will not crush them. The mechanism has a torque limit that causes it to reverse when it encounters resistance.
Third, an anti-collision function protects the mechanism itself. If someone pushes against the wing or tries to force it open, the motor control system absorbs the impact instead of transferring it to the gears and the shaft. This prevents mechanical damage and extends the service life of the unit. Fourth, the unit has a fail-safe function: in an emergency or a power outage, the wings automatically retract into the cabinet, opening the channel for free passage. This is a requirement in most building codes and fire safety regulations, and it is one of the first things an inspector will check.
