ZOJE Road Blocker and Barrier System Operational in Saudi Arabia Project

2026-04-22 - Leave me a message

At a recently completed project site in Saudi Arabia, a comprehensive access control system supplied by ZOJE has officially entered full-scale operational service. This system comprises RD3000 road blockers, PB300 barrier gates, and an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) system. Serving as the central security infrastructure for vehicle entry and exit within the area, the system currently handles high-volume vehicle verification and traffic guidance tasks. Following the completion of initial installation and rigorous commissioning, all equipment has demonstrated stable performance within Saudi Arabia's unique environmental conditions, with every function meeting or exceeding the intended design standards.

Front-end Recognition and Authorization Verification

The system's initial step begins with ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition). As a vehicle enters the designated recognition zone, high-definition cameras capture images of its license plate. The system features specialized algorithmic optimizations tailored to local Saudi license plate formats—which incorporate both Arabic and English characters—ensuring exceptionally high recognition accuracy even under conditions of intense direct sunlight or low-light nighttime environments. Once a successful match is established against the database, an authorization command is immediately transmitted to the main control console.

a) Identification and Response: As a vehicle approaches the entrance, the ANPR system identifies the license plate and, upon confirming authorization, immediately transmits a signal to the control unit.

b) Physical Barrier Interlock: Once the barrier gate opens, the traffic light switches from red to green, and the raised road blocker automatically retracts to permit the authorized vehicle to pass.

c) After the vehicle has completely cleared the ground induction loop, the boom barrier closes first; subsequently, the road blocker automatically rises within a preset safety interval, thereby restoring the fully secured protective state.

Hardware Performance Adapted to the Saudi Environment

Taking into account Saudi Arabia's local climate—characterized by high temperatures and frequent sandstorms—ZOJE has implemented targeted measures regarding equipment selection and installation:

a) Weather Resistance: The hydraulic system and sealing structures of the RD3000 road blocker have undergone reinforcement. This effectively protects internal mechanical components against abrasion caused by wind and sand, while ensuring stable power output even in high-temperature environments.

b) High-Frequency Operation: The PB300 barrier gate utilizes brushless motor technology, enabling it to support hundreds of operations per day. Furthermore, its low heat generation makes it ideally suited for the prolonged, high-temperature outdoor operating conditions typical of Saudi summers.

Safety Sensing and Anti-Smash

a) Intelligent Anti-Smash Function: When a vehicle is in the vicinity of the boom barrier, the ground induction loop transmits a signal to the controller, compelling the barrier to remain in the open position until the vehicle has completely exited the detection zone. This logic effectively safeguards the safety of both vehicles and pedestrians, preventing property damage resulting from operational errors.

b) Delayed Ascent Mechanism: Testing indicates that the road blocker does not immediately rise after a vehicle has passed and the barrier gate has closed. The system incorporates a safety delay of approximately 30 seconds. This design takes into account local driving habits in Saudi Arabia as well as the requirement for multiple vehicles to pass in succession, thereby ensuring safety while simultaneously optimizing traffic flow efficiency.

Currently, this intelligent management system is operating smoothly at the project site in Saudi Arabia. By integrating license plate recognition, physical barriers, automated boom gates, and traffic signaling under a unified control logic, the system has not only significantly reduced the daily operational burden on security personnel at the site but has also markedly enhanced the overall level of access control management.

ZOJE will continue to closely monitor long-term operational feedback regarding this project. We remain committed to basing our efforts on real-world engineering data to continuously optimize our products' weather resistance and intelligent control logic. This ensures that every system delivered to our global clientele can withstand the rigors of complex, real-world environments, providing enduring and reliable security protection.
