ZOJE Delivers a Custom AB Glass Full Height Turnstile for a U.S. Jewelry Store

Jewelry stores face a problem most shops never think about. The merchandise is small, valuable, and easy to grab. A customer can walk in, take something, and walk out before anyone reacts. That risk changes what an entrance has to be. It has to let customers in smoothly, but it also has to stop anyone from getting in who should not be there.

ZOJE received a request like this from a jewelry store in the United States. They wanted an entrance that handled normal customer flow during the day, but could not be rushed or forced at any time. After several rounds of discussion about their floor plan, their traffic, and their daily routine, ZOJE designed a custom AB glass full height turnstile for the store.

What an AB glass full height turnstile is

An AB glass full height turnstile is a two-cabin door system. The entrance is split into two sections, usually called the A door and the B door. A person enters the first cabin, the door behind them closes, and only then does the second door open. The two doors never open at the same time. That is the basic principle of interlocking control, and it makes the system hard to abuse. ZOJE applied this principle to a full-height, floor-to-ceiling design, so there is no space to climb over or duck under.

For this project, ZOJE built the AB glass full height turnstile from SS316 stainless steel and bulletproof glass. SS316 is a marine-grade stainless steel, chosen for its corrosion resistance and strength. The glass is laminated bulletproof glass that can take a hard impact. Together, the frame and the glass give the door real physical protection, not just the look of it.

Locking and forced entry

Security in a door like this comes down to the lock. ZOJE fitted this AB glass full height turnstile with a 500 kg magnetic lock. A magnetic lock of this size holds the door shut with a strong holding force, and it is very hard to defeat by force. If someone tries to push the door open, the lock holds firm. With the interlock logic, even a strong push will not open both cabins at once. For a jewelry store, this is the difference between a delay of a few seconds and a door that simply does not give.

AI camera and anti-tailgating

The biggest threat to a jewelry store entrance is not always a direct attack. It is tailgating. One person walks in together with a legitimate customer and slips in without being checked. A door that only locks is not enough if a second person can follow right behind the first.

ZOJE solved this with an AI camera. Inside the AB glass full height turnstile, the camera monitors the cabin and counts people. It does not just detect movement. If two people step into the cabin together, the system triggers an alarm. The A door does not close, and the B door does not open. The two people are effectively held inside the cabin. Only when the system confirms that one person remains in the cabin does the A door close. After the A door closes, the B door opens. This AB glass full height turnstile lets exactly one person pass at a time. Staff are notified at the same moment, so they can see what is happening and respond.

Accessibility for every customer

Security doors often create a problem for people who move slowly or carry things. A tall, heavy door with strict locking logic can be difficult for a wheelchair user, for a parent pushing a stroller, or for a customer carrying a child. ZOJE did not want security to come at the cost of accessibility.

The AB glass full height turnstile includes a bell button installed at a reachable height. A wheelchair user, a parent with a stroller, or a customer holding a child can press the bell, and staff hear it at the counter or in the back office. Staff can then open the door from their side, so the customer passes through easily. ZOJE also fitted an intercom on both sides of the AB glass full height turnstile. If a customer is inside the cabin and needs help, or if a staff member needs to speak to someone at the door, they can talk directly instead of shouting through the glass.

Remote control for daily operation

Daily operation was another requirement. The store did not want to depend on keys, or on staff running to the door every time something changed. Each AB glass full height turnstile at the store can be opened and closed individually with a remote control. Staff can open one cabin to let a delivery in, hold a door during a busy moment, or close everything down at the end of the day, all from one remote. Each door responds on its own, which gives the store flexible control without weakening the overall security.

From drawings to a working door

The photos that go with this article show the project at different stages. The first images show the design, with the two cabins marked Exit and Entrance, the indicator lights on top, and the accessibility panel on the center column. Later images show the door in production, with the SS316 frame, the bulletproof glass panels, and the call units fitted into the structure. The video shows the finished unit in operation. For ZOJE, seeing a project move from drawings to a working door is the most satisfying part of the work. Every dimension was checked against the store's doorway, and the whole system was tested before it left our workshop.

Why ZOJE builds it this way

This project is a good example of how ZOJE works. We do not sell standard doors and hope they fit. We listen to the client, look at how the store actually operates, and then build the right product for the job. If your business has a similar need, whether it is a jewelry store, a bank, or any entrance where security and smooth traffic both matter, get in touch with ZOJE. We will be glad to look at your floor plan and talk about what your entrance really needs.
